The Extent of Programming

Wizard101 is a programming masterpiece. Most people don't pay much attention to that fact. I happen to know some programming myself in C++ and Actionscript. And let me tell you, its not a walk in the park. All the debugging for the most simple program could talk hours to weeks even years. So I know many people complain about KI and their mistakes in the game. But think about this, each thing on the list could take years to debug and/or create. Each thing causing massive problems and requiring extensive amounts of work.

They need to find an algorithm to make the increase in stats correct for each level increase and the gear increase stats accordingly.

They need to program Artificial Intelligence (AI) into each and every enemy and how they fight differently and decide what is considered hard and what is considered easy.

They need to have focus groups get together and decide what would appeal to all ages for new content.

As you may have noticed in update notes, they have people go through all the text in the whole game looking for spelling and/or grammar errors.

They need to cast actors for NPC's and Enemies and create them with all the artwork and animation.

If you look in the behind the scenes videos on youtube on Wizard101 you can see that they don't program the world from the players perspective, the make the world around the players so that there is really more scenery in places that you can't even get to. That is why some places that are glitches have scenery.

I might edit this post with more stuff later. But just think about the work load and how many people it takes to accomplish these tasks in time as to not delay and upset customers.

So maybe cut KI a little slack huh?
